The title was inspired by Michael Grade, one of the LJS’s prominent members. The book provides a valuable insight into this community, which was established in 1911 and which has been praised as a leader for Progressive Judaism in this country and worldwide, and is also at the forefront of interfaith relations. The book is extensively researched and also contains personal memories of a wide cross section of LJS members.
